Regulatory reference
The official source for EU battery-passport requirements is Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, including Article 77 and Annex XIII. Article 77 sets 18 February 2027 as the passport start date for LMT batteries, industrial batteries above 2 kWh, and EV batteries placed on the market or put into service. Product classification, capacity, market placement, economic-operator role, subsequent acts, and current guidance affect applicability. Qualified advisers should review the current rules.
